Please Review Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)?
Q. Employees or contracted consultants typically come on site and work at our office. Why have you chosen to offer project consulting as a virtual service?
A. Essentially, for short-term project assignments working virtually is a better way to work for both parties. With advances in technology and communication tools it is becoming easier to do more types of work outside of a corporate office just as effectively as if a worker was on site. In addition, there are additional advantages that the client does not have to provide a computer or office space to accommodate an additional resource and productivity is higher when not commuting between offices.
Q. What is the advantage of working through DIGITALCFO versus selecting agency candidates?
A. Our specialization is in short duration project assignments averaging from 8 to 40 hours each while other temporary resources typically prefer assignments of at least a few weeks or months. Plus when working with us, we have agreed in advance to specific project deliverables and we use tools such as spreadsheet templates and checklists to minimize project duration. Also, using a candidate sourced through an agency will require extra time to get your worker trained and set up on internal systems which will increase total cost. Finally, our billed costs are only for direct project hours incurred and exclude any general administration time.
Q. Is there an introductory kickoff meeting prior to the commencement of each project?
A. Yes. Once you’ve contacted us via email or phone, we can discuss the project’s scope, estimate the number of hours the project will take and any other details. We can also schedule a brief follow up, if needed, prior to the commencement of the project. However, because we focus on short duration projects with companies located throughout the U.S, all introduction meetings are done exclusively via telephone or by web conference.
Q. Since DIGITALCFO is a virtual resource, what is the process for contacting you on short notice?
A. While we operate remotely, we can be easier to get a hold of quickly than many on site workers. Our office is set up with accessible communications as a top priority and detailed contact information is located on the Contact page. Our commitment is to respond within one business day. However, if we are currently working on your project, please note whether your communication is urgent and we will contact sooner, if possible.
Q. For some corporate projects, we would require your computer to access our corporate network. What measures are taken to keep your computers safe and secure from malicious attacks?
A. Our system safeguards and online applications have equivalent security of a typical corporate network. System passwords are stored and encrypted using LastPass so passwords are never saved within the Internet browsers. Computers are updated automatically for Microsoft updates as well as for protection from viruses, spyware, adware and other malware. In addition we use various backup solutions to protect and secure client files.
Q. Why are there variations in billing rates?
A. Hourly rates are based on the urgency of the project. Rates are discounted for projects booked greater than 30 days in advance. When projects are scheduled in advance, we can increase our efficiency and offer a lower rate to our customers.
Q. Can we get examples of work you’ve done and may we contact your references?
A. Absolutely. Upon request, I can provide you with a list of references. We will be able to provide more details about specific projects at a future date.
Q. Who provided the design work for your websites?
A. The DIGITALCFO MEDIA websites use the WordPress platform and I selected site themes that would work best for the business. All subsequent design changes and modifications were done by me. I figured to be truly digital I had to own full responsibility for the web sites.
Q. The DIGITALCFO.biz site does not view correctly in Internet Explorer 6. What should I do?
A. The site views properly in all current browser versions of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari and Opera. However, the site will not view correctly using Internet Explorer 6 which uses older technology. To fix the problem, please upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer or use an alternative browser.
